Frequently asked Questions
I have searched the world over for a nice way to make molds and yours is the best so far, but it really limits you ito size so maybe it would be worth your whle to consider developing something bigger over time as there is definitely a market for it.
Thanks
Nikki
Hi Nikki
Thanks so much! I must agree with you - I love my Mini Mold, but as the name suggests, its meant for little things …. HOWEVER………
Did you know you can add on onto larger projects? All you do is use your first 6 pieces - they will remain hotter for longer due to size. Place it onto the piece you want to mould very thin! . Heat up the next 6 Before you add them on, heat up the join area with your faithful hairdryer. Carry on until your whole project it covered. Take a hairdryer and heat up all the joins and run your finger over them until you can’t see the joins anymore. When its all done, you can add more Mini Mold over the first layer heating it as you go to thicken and strengthen your mould. Use the hairdryer again if necessary when you are finished for a good join.
Just how non-stick is Mini Mold?
It sticks to all surfaces until you want to remove it - then just pop it off.
e.g.This is my hairdryer hook.
If at first it does cool down and harden too fast, heat it while in place with a hairdryer trim, and allow it to cool and harden. Once you remove it, it will not stick again until you heat it again.
Is Mini Mold safe ?
Mini Mold is 100% non-toxic in all it stages of being. No need for extra ventilation, not need for gloves of masks.
How fast does Mini Mold harden?
Mini Mold hardens after about 3-5 minutes room temperature, or if you are in a hurry, you can plunge it into ice cold water for about 30 seconds. Do this only if the item you are molding is water resistant. Dry it all off and your mold is ready.
Is Mini Mold Brittle?
Mini Mold is tough yet flexible, the thinner it is the more flexible it is. You can drill through it or cut it with a knife or pair of scissors.
Do you need special equipment?
Not at all…. All you need is a pot of hot water, a towel, and something like tongs or chopsticks to remove the Mini Mold from the pot. Once the Mini Mold has been patted dry with a towel, it is cool enough to manipulate it with your bare hands.
Can Mini Mold be glued?
No, it it totally non- stick! Even epoxy glue or super-glue will not do the trick. It sticks only to itself as long as it is hot.
Can you mix colours?
If one stick is not big enough for your moulding, you can mix sticks of Mini Mold together, the colours will change if you mix them, but that’s the only change that’ll happen.
Is Mini Mold sticky?
No, Mini Mold is not sticky, but will stick to itself when hot.
Does Mini Mold require a release agent?
If you make a mould and use polymer clay in the mould, you may have to dust it with baby powder or cornflour, brush it out well with a soft brush, and VOILA! The clay releases from the mold easily. However, if you use other products that are not oily, it is not necessary to use powder as a mold release. It is advisable to use powder if you are making a two part mould.
How long does Mini Mold last?
You can use and re-use it for years!
What can be used in the Mini Mold moulds?
You can use anything that is under 40ºC such as: Icing, chocolate, nail acrylic, Polymer clay, air dry clay, resin, liquid glass, epoxy putty 2-part epoxy glue, plaster of paris.....
you can even use Mini Mold in a mould if you use some baby powder of corn flour to dust the mould lightly.
How hard is Mini Mold when cool?
When Mini Mold is set, it is flexible but tough! If you mould something like a rock with undercuts, it's best to squish your Mini Mold around the rock quite thinly. You can then almost turn it inside out when releasing your casting.

Liquid Glass is a clear 2 part resin. It cures within 24 hours and looks just like glass. You can add paint to color it and also fine glitter for affect.
